Learn how Basero collects, uses, protects, and handles your personal information when browsing, listing, or reserving verified urban rentals.
Unlike conventional classified boards or real estate listing hubs, Basero operates on a straightforward contractual principle: your contact identity belongs solely to you. We will never sell, lease, auction, or broadcast your direct phone number, email address, or government verification documents to telemarketers, cold-calling agency syndicates, or unlicensed property brokers.
We collect information essential to providing a safe, verified peer-to-peer housing network. Collection occurs transparently when you register an account, undergo voluntary identity check-ins, create listings, schedule home visits, or interact with our support desk.
Full legal name, primary email address, mobile number for secure sign-in verification, move-in date preferences, and student or employment sector credentials used for compatibility matching.
Government identity cards (e.g., Aadhaar / Passport / Driver's License masked hash), electricity billing receipts, or co-op housing society share certificates verified strictly via certified trust providers.
When you register, we assign an irreversible internal UUID to your profile. No clear-text password is ever persisted on our machines — sign-in is handled through your verified single sign-on provider with secure session tokens.
Enquiry exchanges between prospective tenants and hosts are held in our encrypted message repository to provide moderation dispute verification and harassment prevention.
For landlords, flat-owners, and head tenants posting spare bedrooms or entire homes, we store:
Photos uploaded to property listings are stripped of EXIF metadata (including original camera manufacturer coordinates and GPS tags) before being transcoded into optimized, CDN-served image streams. This ensures no inadvertent location breadcrumbs are exposed to public viewers.
All room media undergoes algorithmic screening to automatically blur human faces and sensitive personal documents visible in shared spaces.
Geolocation permissions requested by the Basero web application are strictly operational. When granted, your coordinates are processed on your local device to:
Estimate walking and metro transit distance to prospective properties.
Show listings within a user-specified 2km–15km radius of your workplace.
Listing pins appear with an intentional 150-meter variance until an inspection visit is confirmed.
User credentials and personal lease files are segregated from public listing indices and cached in encrypted private cloud partitions. ISO/IEC 27001 aligned.
When you browse Basero, our web servers automatically ingest diagnostic access tokens. This telemetry includes IP address ranges, browser user agent strings, screen aspect proportions, operating system distributions, and referring HTTP headers. These logs are preserved exclusively for DDoS mitigation and session state continuity.
Every bit of data collected has a bounded purpose under Section 6 of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) framework:
Basero employs session validation tokens with strict SameSite=Strict and HttpOnly cookie protections. Secure sign-in is provided through verified single sign-on credentials, and host profiles complete KYC verification before publishing lease availability.
All customer documents and database clusters reside within enterprise-tier data centers. All volume clusters operate with full disk AES-256 block encryption. Key rotation cycles occur automatically every 90 days via isolated hardware security modules (HSMs).
To provide mapping accuracy and secure verification, we partner with select sub-processors:
Google Maps API / OpenStreetMap services calculate public transit distances and landmark markers. No individual user identity is forwarded.
Rentals are settled directly between tenant and host. Basero never handles, stores, or processes card numbers, UPI routing, or any monetary transfer.
We use strictly necessary and performance cookies. Essential cookies maintain active search filters and authentication tokens. Performance cookies help us identify slow-loading pages or broken rental forms. We do not place third-party behavioral advertising pixels or invasive cross-site retargeting cookies.
Active account records are preserved as long as you maintain your Basero profile. If you deactivate your profile, listings are delisted immediately. Financial transaction ledgers and host audit records are retained for a statutory interval of five (5) years in compliance with national financial and accounting laws, after which they are irreversibly destroyed.
We conduct continuous automated vulnerability scanning, mandatory bi-annual third-party penetration testing, and maintain least-privilege role-based access control (RBAC). Employees access production environments strictly through ephemeral hardware tokens with hardware-backed WebAuthn authentication.
You maintain full sovereignty over your information. At any point, through your account settings or by submitting a formal request, you may exercise:
Request an unedited JSON archive of all profile records, enquiries, and saved searches.
Update inaccurate contact info, corrected room measurements, or outdated photos within 24 hours.
Permanent purge of all personally identifiable records, host verifications, and active listings.
Pause property visibility and disable non-essential notification digests with one toggle.
Basero is engineered solely for adults of legal contracting age (18 years or older) capable of signing valid residential tenancy agreements. We never knowingly index or solicit information from minors. Accounts discovered to belong to individuals under 18 years will be immediately deactivated and their records purged.
As marketplace features evolve or regulatory privacy statutes change, this document will be updated. We will notify active users of substantive revisions via in-app banner alerts and direct email notifications at least thirty (30) days before new clauses take effect.
We have designated an independent Data Protection & Grievance Officer responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance and addressing user privacy inquiries.
